Which type of accounting degree is best?

Is it better to get a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy? The university closest to me that I might transfer to only offers the BA, but there is a college farther away that offers the BS. Both programs seem to have the same type of classes. I'm not going to be getting a job in the area I'm going to school in, so would a university rather than a college of business look better on a resume, since the companies I apply to mostly likely won't know the reputation of the business college?

Hello xfire82. I don't really know all the details of your situation, but I suspect a B.S. in Accountancy might do better on a resume if you want to work in an accounting position. Do you plan on pursuing the CPA? If so, will you be able to get enough accounting credit hours with a Business Administration degree? What state are you going to school in? Hi, I just completed an AA in Accounting through UOP (University
of Phoenix) online.
Now that I'm beginning the second half, I decided to further my
education with UOP rather than the local college since UOP offers
a BS with a Concentration in Accounting as apposed to a general
business degree. I also currently work in a CPA firm, and have
been advised here that a BS is the best way to go for preparing
for the CPA exam.
