College Majors

At the university i'll attend next year, Accounting is not an offered major. I've tentatively decided to get my BA in Economics and continue to grad school. What are some other/more relavant majors? Or what are other efficient paths to becoming an accountant?

License Vs. Master Degree

Postby Bean Counter » Tue Mar 20, 2007 8:08 am

Hi, I currently meet the requirements to sit for the exam. But I only have a year left before I complete my MACCy degree. Should I forego the degree (which will cost me about another $9k) and just start studying for the exam? My hesitation lies in the fact that the exam is rather tough and if I don't pass the exam in the near future, at least I'll have my degree to fall back on when I'm applying for jobs. I know companies/firms favor the license, but would I be risking a lot by not finishing my degree? I plan on going into industry, where a license, IMO, isn't as important.

I think while you continue with BA in Economics you can also go for Accounting Certification Programs from some Online Accredited College... That will be helpful for you to gain extensive skills in Accounting Field...
